Paul O'Hanlon

Paul O'Hanlon is a distinguished concrete enthusiast, boasting an extensive international portfolio that underscores his expertise in the field. As a Global R&D Project Manager at the Holcim Innovation Center in France, Paul leverages a remarkable 2.5 decades of experience within the concrete industry. 

Since 2021, Paul has been at the forefront of Holcim's digital technologies for ready-mixed concrete projects. His responsibilities in R&D encompass the development of digital services for low-carbon construction, the creation of mix design optimization tools and spearheading the next-generation concrete plant initiative. With a proven track record, Paul remains a leading voice and influencer in the ever-evolving landscape of digital technologies for concrete.

Prior to this Paul first joined Holcim's concrete business in Qatar, where he assumed the pivotal role of Head of Growth, Innovation & Quality. During this tenure, he played a direct and influential role in supporting record breaking mega projects, solidifying his reputation as a key player in the industry.

Preceding this Paul was based in Kazakhstan as Chief Concrete Technologist on the tallest high rise structure in Central Asia. He started his professional career with Ireland's largest concrete producer.

Paul's academic background is equally impressive, having studied Building Surveying, Construction Management, Advanced Concrete Technology and Project Management in Ireland and the UK. He holds designatory status with both the Institute of Concrete Technology and the UK Concrete Society.
